August set the record for cattle slaughter in 2022
According to data provided by the National Directorate of Agricultural Commercial Control (DNCCA), in August 2022, the slaughter climbed to its maximum monthly value for the current year, reaching 1.23 million heads of cattle processed. This implies a monthly rise, compared to July of the current year, of (+10.9%), which is equivalent to more than 120 thousand animals; and an increase of (+7.8%) compared to the month of August 2021, which is equivalent to about 90 thousand animals. Adjusted for the number of working days of the month, which were 22, the increase compared to the 20 working days of July was (+0.8%), and the daily slaughter reached 55.8 thousand heads in August.
