Meat exports closed 2022 with falls

Mexican exports of meat products closed 2022 with falls in both value and volume, this despite the high international prices of pork and chicken due to higher consumption and lower production, revealed data from the Agricultural Markets Consulting Group (GCMA).

According to figures from the private organization, based on information from the National Customs Agency of Mexico, last year our country sold a total of 569.7 thousand tons of meat to other nations, a decrease of 2.7 percent compared to the 585.8 thousand tons registered in 2021. Said exports last year represented a value of 3 thousand 180 million dollars, an amount that was below the 3 thousand 325 million dollars of the previous year.
