Meat exports fell 21% in February

Exports of beef fell 21% in February , in relation to the levels exported in the same month of 2022, and totaled 196 million dollars compared to the 247 million dollars registered a year ago, according to data from Uruguay XXI. The reason behind the drop was again the drop in exports to China, which had a strong impact on the contraction, according to Blasina y Asociados . In this sense, shipments to the Asian country had a year-on-year decrease of 36% , and income from these businesses went from 147 million dollars in February 2022 to 94 million dollars last month.
