Meat inflation has already reached its peak: producers
Meat prices in Mexico, which include chicken, pork, beef and cold meats, have already reached their level of stability, and although they should not have a major impact on the consumer, insecurity is the factor that makes food costs more expensive, in which up to 30,000 pesos is paid for each truck for a security guard, said Ernesto Hermosillo, president of the Mexican Meat Council (Comecarne). These foods of animal origin present a stable price as the basis of the raw material, which is showing a downward trend. “We have already reached the price ceiling, there is no reason to go up more, raw materials have already begun to show stability, without a doubt,” he said in an interview within the framework of the International Meat and Dairy Expo organized by Comecarne.
