They ask to monitor the importation of meat against diseases

Due to the opening there is for imports of this food from markets such as Brazil or Argentina , where the disease has already occurred, they ask that health surveillance in the country grow. Héctor Garza Garza, president of the Mexican Association of Meat Producers (AMEG), commented that the market should not be opened to imports when there is self-sufficiency . In beef, he highlighted, the Argentine market was opened despite the fact that 2.1 million tons were produced in 2021, when local consumption is 1.9 tons.
